CONN NAHRO SCHOLARSHIP
The National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials CT Chapter awards at least three $3,500 scholarships to aid persons living in Section 8 housing or in public housing in CT. More eligibility requirements and applications are available in the Counseling Office as well as in Naviance. The deadline for this application is June 19th.
Meriden Federation of Educational Secretaries
Two scholarships of $750.00 each have been established by the Meriden Federation of Educational Secretaries to encourage graduating seniors to continue their education beyond high school. The scholarships will be awarded to two graduating seniors from Platt, Maloney and/or Wilcox High Schools. All scholarship applicants must be Meriden residents. The scholarships will be awarded to two worthy students who will be entering a college or university to prepare for a business career. This applications is due in the Guidance Office by June 1, 2015.
The CABO Foundation
Six of Connecticut's premier human rights organizations are offering scholarships to students who are members of, or allies to, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or Intersex communities. CABO will award a minimum of $5,000 to CT students who are pursuing a higher education. The deadlines for these scholarships vary anywhere from April 24th to June 1st. The Community Service Scholastic Scholarship Program of Meriden
The Community Service Scholastic Scholarship Program of Meriden has been established by the city's Mayor and City Council in recognition and support of Meriden's student citizens. Awards are available at two levels of funding to eligible seniors upon the fulfillment of the following criteria: $500 Award Student and family must demonstrate 2 years of consecutive residents prior to application, and must maintain residency during application year. Student must have applied to and been accepted by a recognized and accredited institute of high education (2 or 4 year college or university, licensed training or vocational school). Student must have 100 documented hours of voluntary service to the Meriden community. These hours of service must be in addition to the 20 hours required to fulfill graduation requirements. Student must demonstrate responsible citizenship through a record of regular on-time school attendance, student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 – 3.45 $1,000 Award Student must fulfill criteria as noted above. Student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. The deadline for this application is June 5th.
Accel International Holdings, Inc.
Scholarship Contest Accel International Holdings, Inc., a local manufacturing company, is proud to announce its second annual Scholarship Contest. They are looking for two motivated Meriden high school seniors who will pursue a degree in the area of Business Administration or Engineering. The selected winners will each receive a $5,000 scholarship. Applications and criteria is available in the Scholarship Binder in the Counseling Office as well as in Naviance. The deadline for this application is April 15. The Irma Peckham Morse Arts & Crafts Association of Meriden Art Scholarship This $1,000 scholarship is in memory of Irma Morse who supported art and education in the Meriden community for many years. UConn Waterbury is offering a number of scholarships for students enrolling at the Waterbury campus, The Scholarship Committee will review applicants based on academic performance, community involvement, and financial need. National Council of Jewish Women, Emma Kohn Podoloff Scholarship
To be considered for this award, students must reside in New Haven County for at least one year, be a Jewish high school senior with a "B" average and be in need of financial assistance. The deadline for this application is May 22.
The Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund
This award will be made available at the national level during the high school academic year 2014/2015 by the Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund in honor of Janice Marie Scott, who was one of the 125 individuals who perished in the Pentagon on September 11, 2001 when terrorists crashed American Airlines Flight 77 into the building of the Pentagon.
