Falcon Alumni Athletic Scholarship
This scholarship is for students who are Meriden residents who are going on to further their education, have scholastic achievement and have participated in school athletics. Applications are available in the Counseling Office as well as in Naviance. The deadline for this scholarship is May 8.
Project Excel, Inc. Thomas E. Bruenn Academic Scholarship
An annual scholarship has been established in the amount of one thousand dollars that will be awarded to high school graduates from Platt and Maloney High Schools. The recipients should show a profound interest in or excel in mathematics, and exemplify high values, outstanding character, and dedication to community service. Criteria and applications can be found in the Scholarship Binder in the Counseling Office as well as in Naviance. The deadline for this scholarship is April 30th.
North Italian Home Club
This scholarship is open to all seniors attending a Meriden high school or senior students from surrounding towns whose parents are NIHC members in good standing. Students need to be going on to a 4 year college curriculum. More information and scholarship applications are available in the Counseling Office as well as in Naviance. The deadline for this application is May 8.
The North Italian Home Club Ladies Auxiliary Scholarship
This scholarship is available to: Any senior attending at Meriden high school or any high school senior student whose parent(s) are NIHC members in good standing living in a town other than Meriden. The student must be applying to an accredited university, college or technical school with a major in the health field. Senior must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA Other considerations include extracurricular activities, community service, part-time employment. Applications must be filled out in their entirety and returned to the guidance office by April 17th.
The Community Service Scholastic Scholarship Program of Meriden
The Community Service Scholastic Scholarship Program of Meriden has been established by the city's Mayor and City Council in recognition and support of Meriden's student citizens. Awards are available at two levels of funding to eligible seniors upon the fulfillment of the following criteria: $500 Award Student and family must demonstrate 2 years of consecutive residents prior to application, and must maintain residency during application year. Student must have applied to and been accepted by a recognized and accredited institute of high education (2 or 4 year college or university, licensed training or vocational school). Student must have 100 documented hours of voluntary service to the Meriden community. These hours of service must be in addition to the 20 hours required to fulfill graduation requirements. Student must demonstrate responsible citizenship through a record of regular on-time school attendance, student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 – 3.45 $1,000 Award Student must fulfill criteria as noted above. Student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. The deadline for this application is June 5th.
Accel International Holdings, Inc.
Scholarship Contest Accel International Holdings, Inc., a local manufacturing company, is proud to announce its second annual Scholarship Contest. They are looking for two motivated Meriden high school seniors who will pursue a degree in the area of Business Administration or Engineering. The selected winners will each receive a $5,000 scholarship. Applications and criteria is available in the Scholarship Binder in the Counseling Office as well as in Naviance. The Irma Peckham Morse Arts & Crafts Association of Meriden Art Scholarship This $1,000 scholarship is in memory of Irma Morse who supported art and education in the Meriden community for many years. Rotary Club of Meriden
The Rotary Club of Meriden has established a Citizenship Award for high school seniors who are residents of Meriden, to reward them in their efforts to make Meriden a better community. Rotary encourages young men and women to continue their education beyond high school in any continuing education. More information and criteria is available in the Scholarship Binder in the Counseling Office as well as in Naviance. The deadline for this application is April 17.
The George N. Ryan Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship will assist young motivated students in their quest to obtain a higher education beyond high school be awarding one or more students with a one- time scholarship award at the end of the academic year. This scholarship is only open to seniors. The deadline for this application is May 1.
Henry F. Zaleski Memorial Scholarship
The Henry F. Zaleski Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding graduating Maloney or Platt senior who intends to enroll in a four year degree program at the University of Connecticut. The scholarship award will be made to the applicant displaying scholastic success, athletic accomplishments, outstanding character and financial need. The deadline for this application is April 15th.
AARP Castle Craig Meriden Chapter #4644
AARP Chapter #4644 is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a high school senior pursuing a career in a medically related field. The deadline for this application is April 3. Kiwanis Club of Tri Town Golden K Awarded to graduating seniors who will pursue a college education or technical school training. The deadline for this application is April 17. Meriden Firefighters Local 1148 Meriden Firefighter's Union, Local 1148 Scholarship Forms are now available. These scholarships are for graduating seniors and are based on a GPA of 2.5 – 3.5 and financial need. Applications are due in the Counseling Office by April 17.

Our Lady of Fatima Men's Club Scholarship
One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a 2015 grad who is a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima. Other criteria includes church involvement, community service and how OLFC has influenced life's decisions and goals. The deadline for this award is April 17.
New England Counselors of Color Bridging Access to College will be awarding book scholarships to eligible students of color, graduating from a New England high school, and who will be enrolling full time in a NECBAC member institution (list available in Naviance and Scholarship Binder). This application is due in the Counseling Office by May 1.
Mutual Security Credit Union
Six high school seniors with outstanding promise will each receive a $1,000 scholarship. Awards will be given to students who have given selflessly of themselves to improve the overall state of affairs in their community, are in good academic standing and have demonstrated financial need. Applicants need to be a MSCU member or the child of a member. This applications is due in the Counseling Office by April 17.
The Adelman Family Foundation, Inc.
The Adelman Family Foundation is pleased to offer a nursing school scholarship to a Meriden student which can range from $500 to $1,000. Must be planning to pursue a career in nursing through either a BSN program or any program that would make the student eligible to sit for the Connecticut Registered Nurse Examination. The deadline for this application is April 17.
Quota International of New Haven
Quota International supports people helping people around the world by raising awareness of issues facing the deaf, hard of hearing, and speech-impaired individuals, as well as disadvantaged women and children.Scholarships will be awarded to hearing-impaired students or to students planning a career in service to the hearing impaired. Other worthy candidates would include students interested in careers in the healthcare field, teaching, or work-related fields with the speech and hearing impaired, the mentally challenged, or physically disabled. The deadline for this application is April 17.

National Council of Jewish Women, Emma Kohn Podoloff Scholarship

The CT Education Foundation is offering the Ethnic Minority Scholarship for students who qualify. Candidates shall be a minority as recognized by the National Foundation for the Improvement of Education (Black; Native-American/Alaskan Native; Asian/Pacific Islander and Hispanic/Latino) More critera and information is available in Naviance as well as the Scholarship Binder in the Counseling Office. The Robert H. Hart Scholarship - Meriden Schools Federal Credit Union
The Robert H. Hart Community Service Award was established by the Meriden Schools Federal Credit Union in honor of Robert H. Hart, teacher, principal, visionary and member of the Board of Directors for 55 years. These awards are granted to a college bound high school senior who demonstrates leadership, scholastic excellence, community involvement and a deep respect and understanding of the principles upon which the credit union was founded; service to others without regard for recognition or reward. These awards are based on the qualities listed above, 2 letters of recommendation, high school transcript, must be an upcoming freshman entering a two or four year college, must be an active member, in good standing, or the credit union, show financial need and academic excellence.This application is due in the Counseling Office by April 16. The Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund
This award will be made available at the national level during the high school academic year 2014/2015 by the Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund in honor of Janice Marie Scott, who was one of the 125 individuals who perished in the Pentagon on September 11, 2001 when terrorists crashed American Airlines Flight 77 into the building of the Pentagon. Daughters of the American Revolution - DAR
This Daughters of the American Revolution scholarship is available to any boy or girl, providing he/she is in the upper 25% of their senior class. The scholarships are awarded on a basis of scholastic ability, character, leadership potential and financial need. The DAR application is due in the Guidance Office by April 17, 2015. MARC, INC The Meriden Amateur Radio Club will award this scholarship to a student interested in pursuing an education in the field of communications, electronics and/or related fields. Preference will be given to anyone with a license in amateur radio or a relative of the club. The deadline for this application is April 17, 2015.
The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc.
This scholarship offers renewable, four year scholarships to students with financial need who display academic achievement, a commitment to serving others (in school, the community or at home), a strong work ethic, and leadership qualities. The Milton Fisher Scholarship for Innovation and Creativity
This scholarship is awarded to high school and college students who are unusually innovative and creative problem-solvers. All eligible students are encouraged to apply.
