Platt High School Welcome Back Letter

Good afternoon Platt Families!!!

On behalf of the faculty and staff of Platt High School, I want to welcome you to the 2021/22 School Year at Platt High School.  I am so excited to have you all back in our building and look forward to a fantastic year.  I especially want to welcome our 9th grade class - the class of 2025!!! - as well as any new students to the Platt family.

A few things to be mindful of as we start the school year:

  • School starts for ALL students on Wednesday, September 1, at 7:30 AM.  There will be no distance learning option this year.
  • Per the governor’s order, all students, staff, and faculty are required to wear masks while in the building, regardless of vaccination status.  This includes anyone who comes into  Platt High School.  A separate message with Platt’s health and safety plan will be forthcoming.
  • While you should be able to access your schedule in Power School, please note that they are subject to change as we are continuing to fine-tune them.
  • There is still time to register for fall sports - you can go to platths.com and register on Family ID.  Please call the athletic office if you have any questions.
  • Our orientation night for freshmen and any new students is on August 26th at 6:00.  There will be a brief presentation in the auditorium followed by tours of the building.  Representatives from athletics, clubs, and activities will be on hand, and we will be distributing laptops that night as well.
  • A reminder that ALL incoming 10th graders must have a physical on file with the nurse.  Your child cannot start 10th grade if they do not have a physical on file.  Please contact the nurse’s office if you have any questions about this.
  • My first "Principal's Office Hours" will take place on Wednesday August 25 from 3:30 - 5:00.  This is an opportunity for any parent or student to meet with me directly on any topic.  I will send a Google Meet link out for this as we get closer.  I am hopeful that I can set up an in-person option for this very soon, but right now I think it is better to continue virtually.
Our main office is open from 7AM - 2:30PM if you have any questions or concerns.  We are happy to help.

We will see you all on September 1!!  Go Panthers!!!
